URGENT LECTURER IN PATTERN CUTTING TING

ROLE DESCRIPTION (TEMPORARY POSITION)
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and passionate individual to join our team as a Lecturer in Pattern Cutting. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering tuition in technical pattern cutting, garment construction, stitch and finishing techniques, as well as draping/moulage and Lectra to industry standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver tuition in technical pattern cutting, garment construction, stitch and finishing techniques, as well as draping/moulage and Lectra.
- Develop curriculum/learning material and lesson plans to evidence learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with design tutors to guide students in delivering their creative vision.
- Conduct inductions for first-year students on the use of industrial machinery in the sewing/studio environment.
- Solve problems related to fitting, pattern making, and sample making.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in fashion design or extensive industry experience.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Experience in Higher Education/Further Education delivery.
- Proficiency in teaching flat pattern cutting from basic to advanced levels.
- Exceptional knowledge of fabrics and their properties, including stretch, wovens, sportswear, outerwear, and contour/swimwear.
- Experience in delivering Lectra workshops and developing digital patterns, flat CAD drawings, and Tech packs to industry standards.
- Proficiency in draping/moulage for creative fashion design.
- Ability to combine flat pattern cutting and draping to create toiles.
- Experience in conducting marking and assessment procedures in line with learning outcomes.
