Role Summary
As a Web Developer at The Permalinks, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality, user-centric, and SEO-optimized websites and web applications. The role focuses on delivering visually appealing, functional, and technically robust solutions that align with client requirements. The position also includes website performance optimisation, troubleshooting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional digital experiences.
Duties and Responsibilities
Development Implementation
- Design and develop responsive, mobile-friendly, and SEO-optimized websites using platforms like WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, and HubSpot.
- Convert UI/UX designs into functional front-end web interfaces while maintaining design accuracy and pixel-perfect implementation.
- Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code using modern development standards and frameworks.
- Develop and maintain custom themes, plugins, and functionalities for CMS platforms as needed.
- Support and implement e-commerce functionalities, including shopping carts, payment gateways, and product catalogues.
- Ensure seamless user experiences across various devices and screen resolutions.
Technical Optimization
- Optimize websites for performance, including page speed, Core Web Vitals, and resource efficiency.
- Perform cross-browser compatibility checks and troubleshoot rendering issues.
- Implement advanced technical SEO best practices, such as schema markup, meta tags, and clean URLs.
- Integrate third-party tools, plugins, and APIs to enhance functionality.

Quality Assurance & Testing
- Perform thorough testing of websites, including functionality, usability, and performance testing.

Client File Management
- Maintain detailed and organized project files, including development notes, client specifications, and deliverables.

Job Specification
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on web development experience with a portfolio showcasing completed projects.
- Proven experience working with major CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, HubSpot).
- Strong understanding of SEO principles and web accessibility standards.
Technical Knowledge
