Head of Delivery:
As the Head of Delivery, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of projects and initiatives while driving efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. You will play a critical role in aligning project delivery with business objectives, optimizing processes, and fostering a high-performance culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and oversee the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring they meet scope, timeline, and quality expectations.
- Establish and drive best practices for project execution, delivery governance, and risk management.
- Promote Agile and Lean delivery methodologies across teams, ensuring efficiency and adaptability.
- Act as the primary escalation point for delivery challenges, removing roadblocks and optimizing
- workflows.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams,including Product, Engineering, and Operations, to align project execution with business objectives.
- Ensure effective backlog management, prioritization, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Oversee sprint planning, execution, and retrospective processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor and enhance team velocity, productivity, and adherence to project timelines.
- Own and refine delivery metrics, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success.
- Work closely with stakeholders, providing transparency into delivery progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to build a culture of excellence in project delivery.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and delivery best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Manage and mentor a team of release managers, project managers (client deliveries), and other professionals to ensure profitability.
Qualifications/Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or Information Systems.
- 10+ years of experience in project/program management, software delivery, or a related leadership role.
- Technical acumen (experience as software engineering manager/architect) to review and question the release/feature estimates and implementation efforts to keep a check on cost.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and other delivery methodologies.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members, stakeholders, and clients
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities with a focus on driving results.
- Ability to identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong teamwork and conflict resolution skills, promoting collaboration and resolving conflicts within the project team.
