DATA SCIENTIST - Sampath Bank

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree/Master's Degree in Data Science/Statistics/Big Data Analytics/Information Technology or equivalent from a recognised university
- A minimum of two (02) years industry experience in the BI field as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
- Knowledge of Python, PySpark, R. and SQL or other languages/technologies, for performing complex
- data modelling and analysis: familiarity with Scala or Java
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing and planning end-to-end, in-house analytics and data science projects
- Building analytics and predictive models and systems by ensuring data quality, integrity, and the bank's best practices
- Managing, guiding and developing a data science team to accomplish the bank's strategic objectives
- Managing data science related third party outsourced projects and co-ordination with all stakeholders
- Collaborating closely with internal and external teams
- Conducting advanced statistical analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and to measure performance
OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Proven industry experience as a Data Scientist or a Data Analyst
- Experience in data mining/data engineering
- Understanding of Data Science Concepts, Statistics, Machine Learning Techniques, Business Analytics/Predictive
- Analytics. Tools and Technologies
- Experience in using business intelligence tools (Power BI) and data frameworks (Hadoop/Spark Data Lake) will be considered an advantage
- An analytical mind and business acumen
- Strong mathematical skills (Statistics/Probability Theory/Algebra)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
